Happy Blogging 5th Anniversary!

Today is the 5th Anniversary of my little blog!

Can you believe it?  I’ve been lovingly pouring my heart into this little corner of cyberspace for 5 years.  Sometimes sporadically and sometimes consistently, but always with an eye on sharing a little bit of myself and the beauty in God’s world around us.  I hope you’ve enjoyed the ride and will continue to come along.  I’m excited to say that I have subscribers in countries as far away as Spain, Korea and the UK and as close as just a few blocks away. Thank you all for joining me in this adventure called life.

I have lots of things in store for you in the coming year.  We’ll travel to distant lands and have adventures close to home as well.  We’ll be creative in decorating our homes, cooking in our kitchens, sewing with our machines, celebrating the holidays and oh SO much more…and I hope to launch a new travel-related blog and website, but I can’t share what that will be about yet.

As I’ve mentioned before, we’re heading out on vacation in the next few days and I haven’t had time to set up anything extra special for the anniversary celebration, but I hope to do something fun in a few weeks when we return.  Who knows, maybe I’ll find a treasure in Scotland or Ireland that I can use for a giveaway!  How would you like that?

For the moment, I’ll say so long.  I hope to do at least a few posts while we’re on the road, but we’ll see how much time, energy and internet access allows.    Please know that I’ll be thinking of you often and of what tidbits I can share when the opportunity arises.

What would you like for me to find out about Scotland or Ireland?  Is there something you’d like to see or learn about?

Let me know and I’ll do my best to uncover the mystery for you.

See you soon!

List #3 – Things I’m Looking Forward To…

Yeah, I continue to be behind on 30 Days of Lists, but life sometimes gets in the way of writing and I’ll choose real life and real people every time.

So…these are a few of the things that I’m looking forward to:

  1. Spending time with our kids (who I miss because they live out of state and out of the country)
  2. Going to Ireland with my family (hopefully this summer)
  3. Traveling pretty much anywhere
  4. Spending real time with real people
  5. Big hugs from friends
  6. Having grandkids someday
  7. Getting my craft room organized
  8. Learning how to use my new sewing machine
  9. Listening to my favorite musicians (one happens to be my husband)
  10. Going to the Hand in Hand Reunion
  11. Having more time for blogging and taking pictures someday
  12. Retirement or Heaven (whichever comes first)

What are you looking forward to?

And here’s a contest for a trip to Ireland!

Unfortunately, it ends on Saturday and you have to go to the Cost Plus World Market store to enter…

I’m not sure if I’ll get there, but I’ll bet the number of entries is pretty low. They only allow one entry per household too. If you have a chance to go by a store, it might be worth it.
