My New Blog Project

I know this may not apply to the casual reader, but for those of you who might be interested in learning more about my birth family, check out my latest project at the Perkins and Crider Family History blog.

Click on the “About this blog” page for more insights into why I’m doing this.

This is my mom and dad sometime after 1968.  Weren’t they a cute couple?

Bill & Janice Perkins

I have a huge extended family especially on my dad’s side and I thought that some of my aunts, uncles, cousins, second cousins, etc. would be interested in participating in a blog like this.  My parents also have a large number of grandkids and great grandkids and I thought this might be an easy way to fill them in on some of the family history without having to make copious copies of photos and keepsakes for each of them.  In the long term, I hope to create a book too, that they can get for a permanent record.

The blog will be written with the assumption that it’s family members or close friends reading, but if you would enjoy just eavesdropping on the conversations, just for fun, feel free to drop by anytime. For now we’re keeping the site public.

I make no promises on the frequency of posts, since some of it will be determined by other people’s contributions too, but I’ll post as time allows.

Hope to see you around.  Enjoy the stroll down memory lane!

  1. Yeah, maybe sometime when I have some extra time. The apartment that we had in So Cal was 700 or 750 sq feet and seemed a lot smaller than the house. Maybe 900 is about right. Maybe we can go visit the next time we’re in town.

This is so cool Nance, I really think the house was 750 sq feet, you could probably look that up, I saw somewhere that it was 500 before the expansion and 750 – 800 after, at the very most 900 sq feet, maybe you could look it up through real estate records.
